Hands of Hope

These programmes are the means by which Love Botswana extends the love of Christ in evangelism, helps, encouragement, giving and mercy. The programmes also provide platforms for its congregation as well as local and international volunteers and supporters to participate in the provision of this love and service. At the same time, the ministries are practical and life giving. As such they support government initiatives by filling in the gap where government needs civil society support.

Operation Blessing

This is a food and clothing distribution programme whereby Love Botswana staff members distribute food stuffs and clothing to people in need weekly. Through Operation Blessing, Love Botswana currently supports 14 families, with a total of … individuals in all those families combined.

Visitation and Counselling

Visitation and counselling is provided to members of the community who are referred to our offices as being in need of assistance on the basis of crisis (e.g. house burning, flood, death, illness, child abandonment, etc.). Clients are then either referred to relevant government offices, or helped directly through our Social Work offices, depending on the need at hand.

Family Strengthening Programme

Research says that Botswana consumes alcohol for a country 14 times its size. With such statistics, addiction to alcohol and other intoxicating substances causes various societal problems, including a breakdown in the family system. Through the Family Strengthening Program, Love Botswana has partnered with the Department of Public Health within the Ministry of Health, under the Alcohol Levy Fund to create a voluntary rehabilitation programme that caters for whole families, where family members are included towards the recovery of the main beneficiary.

After School Care is provided for children who come from families where there are addictions; these children are picked up at the end of the school day Mondays to Thursdays and brought to The Life Centre where they are fed, played with, and offered tutoring with their school work to help their grades improve; Play Therapy is also conducted for children 6 – 11 years old. Through After School Care, children are equipped with important life skills that build resilience in them, positively influence their decision-making, and assuage their chances of being trapped in a (potential) cycle of addiction that tends to exist in family settings.

Youth Empowerment Department

The Youth Empowerment Department is a vibrant subdivision for pre-teens and teens. This department provides exciting, educational, fun, and life transforming programmes that are relevant and thoroughly enjoyed by young people. At Love Botswana, we don’t believe that young people are future leaders, instead, we teach them that they are leaders and train them to have a positive impact on their sphere of influence.

All programmes focus on leadership development, discipleship and character building teaching and training, talent discovery and enhancement, and life sills development that supports HIV prevention and care.
